Lifts

Hello All,

I met with an employee of OTIS this morning to show them the scratched and vandalised lift panels in the West wing of the building. He asked me if I was from the Managing Agents.

Whilst I was taking some photos of the panels, a resident called the lift. When I explained why I was taking photos, he replied, “I assume you are from the Managing Agent then?”

Just saying…...

I am expecting a call from OTIS, hopefully next week. They will need to arrange for another visit as they sent the wrong guy over. I will be away next week, so should they visit then and ask for someone to show them the damage, I would need to ask Anna or Yvonne to volunteer in my place… unless we can give the responsibility to Eddie and Aziz?

All but one of the panels are damaged, but they would need to replace them all for consistency. There is a chance they might be able to sand them down and revarnish, but I think the scratches are too deep.

Also, I decided to double check the lift in the wast wing, and that too has some significant scratches (although fewer) and has been vandalised, so we would have to repair/ replace the panels in both lifts anyway.

If replacing the panels altogether will prove to be too costly, I have been looking into alternative solutions. One of which would be to cover them with vinyl, which is cost-effective, hardwearing, fire safe and easy to replace as and when needs be.
