Dear all,

 

At the last meeting we discussed the various proposals for upgrading the existing system, or reseting the fobs on the existing system. Since the meeting I have been reviewing other considerations and have had discussions with two separate security firms.

 

However, following a number of incidents in the area over the last few months it has become a priority to reassess the building’s security setup. One of the suggestions made by Anna and Antonella in discussion with Vince is to add fob-controlled locks to the two sets of double doors which grant access to the east and west wing stairs and lifts. This is incidentally in line with my revised thinking on the subject and I believe that instead of spending the money to upgrade the existing system it will be much more effective to secure the lobby area. In addition I believe it would be wise to secure the door down and lift down to the garage. All locks will release in the event of a fire alarm.

 

Vince has quoted £1,860 +VAT to install fob-readers on the outside or each door, break-glass emergency releases and push button releases on the inside, timers, and power supplies to the two double doors and the single door to the garage.

 

The double-doors can be put on time locks so the they are only locked between 21:00 and 07:30, for example.

 

As the recent events added extra urgency to this matter, and as Anna & Antonella and I came to similar conclusions, we have now shared our thoughts with most of you in person and I believe that we have agreement to go ahead with the installation from:

 

Anna

Antonella/Nanni

Anthony

Delia

Myself

 

This email is for the purpose of having a written record of our decision to go ahead. We will therefore contract Vince to make the installation however it will not be activated until some further aspects are discussed and a notice is sent to all residents a draft of which will be circulated in due course.

 

Please let me know if you have not given your agreement to go ahead.

 

I will be circulating a further email on my general security proposals that can be discussed at out Board Meeting on the 21st.
