One Warrington Gardens - Chubb and Ventilation Essential Works

Good afternoon everyone,

I would like to advise that there will be two visits from contractors in the next few days with one tomorrow and the second on Monday.  Both contractors and visits are fire related and their works are essential processes that need to be adhered to and ensure all necessary aspects of H&S in place.

Fire alarms - two engineers from Chubb will be in the building tomorrow.  They will be relacing a fire alarm sounder on the top floor of the building and will be updating the charting and fire alarm sounder mapping.  They will be using the stairwell as much as possible and will keep access to the lift lobbies to a minimum.  During the mapping the sounders will be tested and as a precaution I have arranged for one engineer to be based at the alarm panel to silence the alarms immediately just in case they are triggered during the process.

Ventilation extractor fans - on Monday two engineers will be running tests in both the East and West emergency stairwells carrying out essential pressurisation and airflow tests and to ensure that the system functions correctly and does what it is supposed to do.  During these tests it is imperative that the stairwells are not used (unless in the event of an emergency and building evacuation)

Please be assured that both contractors have been told that they must respect all social distancing rules at all times and to use all necessary PPE and if anyone does have any concerns with regards to this element please do inform either Asad or myself and we will deal with it immediately.

Finally, the cleaner and gardener were unable to attend this week.  They have been really responsible and have isolated as they came into indirect contact with someone who had a confirmed case of covid-19.  They have now taken the PCR test which I am pleased to say has this morning come back NEGATIVE so they are safe to return to work and to continue to look after the building.
