Lift Update

Hello All,
I have just got off the phone with the Service Manager, Daniel Kayne, at Otis. For the record, I would like to point out that I have been very impressed with Otis’s service and their promptness.
We discussed a few things that it is important I communicate with you:
1). Any repair work or replacement panelling will not be covered by our maintenance insurance.
2). Repair works can prove to be costlier than re-panelling as it would be more labour-intensive
3). It would be particularly expensive to replace with solid wood panels; and the risk of future scratches is high. Daniel is proposing we replace with low-cost, durable panels that are less easy to scratch and easy/ cost-effective to replace.
I am sending Daniel the photos of the damage as well as measurements of the panels, so that he can provide us with an idea of what such ‘low-cost’ panels would cost (don’t label the name fool you, I suspect they will still be pricey!)
The next steps are for the Board to discuss the above and decide how to proceed (at our meeting on the 12th). We would then get in touch with Otis, whom would send in a sub-contractor to have a look and give us a quote. Unless we decide to contract someone ourselves directly. To be discussed.
Regards,
Delia.

I will be away next week, so should they visit then and ask for someone to show them the damage, I would need to ask Anna or Yvonne to volunteer in my place… unless we can give the responsibility to Eddie and Aziz?
